The Pronovias 2013 Collection is full of flowers with extremely elegant choices for brides in all styles. From romantic gowns with very flowing skirts to cosmopolitan styles for a softer, textured look. Bold yet light and comfortable wedding dresses in lace, chiffon, tulle and gazar. Classic patterns and silhouettes inspired by flowers and petals are a triumphant success. Rather than pure white, these models have a ‘nude’ base, which subtly emulates the bride’s skin. Gowns are fashioned over this with sheer ivory lace, guipure and Chantilly, each worked individually by hand. Scissor cut tulle is also used to create original looks with points, flowers, bows and other details.

Another trend for 2013 is the “double dress”. One of buttoned tulle, very easy to wear, which gives the bride great aplomb during the ceremony, however, when the party begins this can be removed, revealing the perfect figure-skimming mermaid dress. When it comes to embroidery, rather than creating contrasts the trend is to create iridescent effects with transparent and white paillettes that reflect natural light and blend beautifully with the sparkles on the dress itself. Small pieces of mother-of-pearl and ivory are also used, traing tiny handcrafted branches of coral and fl owers. Strapless and asymmetric necklines are still the most popular choices, along with spaghetti straps and sheer tulle sleeves. Dresses with trains abound in this collection, long for religious and short for civil ceremonies. The veil, the bridal accessory par excellence is here this season with guipure lace appliqué finished with broderie anglaise. As an alternative, there are tulle, chiffon and organza capes and capelettes, which tie at the neck and flow out generously, as well as fi gure skimming boleros and jackets that form part of the dress. The keys to the season are plunging backs and the waist, which is emphasised with ribbons, knots and belts.
