The 2008 issues of I DO come out in: March / June / August / November About the November Edition: This edition of I DO encountered a few hiccups as a couple of the weddings I had lined up fell through…the reason? The groom decided at the last minute that he did not wish to have the photos splashed all over a magazine for everyone to see. This has happened before, of course, and although it can wreak havoc with my planning of the magazine, I cannot really get annoyed about it. Wedding photos are very personal and while some people enjoy being featured and talked about, I can understand how others shy away from such publicity of what is, after all, a private event. I know that readers look forward to reading the wedding stories and admiring the photos and I am pleased when someone accepts to be in I DO, because the more weddings I have the better. But (as with all marital decisions) this decision should be a joint one. It's no use for the bride to be ecstatic about appearing in the magazine only for the groom to absolutely hate the very idea. Anyway, it does not make sense to start off married life on the wrong foot over something so trivial - and your relationship will be facing countless other instances where you won’t be seeing eye to eye. It’s only by trying to put yourself in the other person’s shoes that you can try and understand why they feel so strongly about it. After that, it’s all about compromise, compromise, compromise. So relax and enjoy reading about the four weddings we have for you in this issue. We also have a feature about honeymooning in the Lake District as well as the story of Maltese singers who were invited to sing at an Italian wedding. Kevin Casha talks about how a photographer can get the best possible photos of the bride and Richard Cleland tells us all about the exclusive brands available for your wedding list at Cleland & Souchet.

The Malta Council for Culture and The Arts invited the sub committee for culture within St. Catherine Musical Society of Zurrieq to repeat the re-enactment of the Traditional Maltese Wedding during the Imnarja Festivities at Buskett next Saturday 28th June at 11.00pm. The wedding ceremony will take place on stage followed by a wedding march that will take the wedding party around the gardens later.

Into its 4th year this programme is presented by the well known musician, entertainer and presenter Frank Bonnici. The programme ‘It-Tieg’ which is broadcast every Sunday morning 11am on Net Television brings up a diverse show that is entertaining and informative dealing with every aspect of getting to that all important day.

In the hope that the Strengthening of Marriage (including civil marriages) becomes a priority in the discussion and action in our country, for the benefit of the whole of society, the KDF (Kummissjoni Djocesana Familja - Diocesan Commission for the Family), together with Cana Movement and Caritas, chose a team of persons to create what is called PROGETTIMPENN - b'Risq Zwieg B'Sahhtu (a project in favour of a healthy marriage) - working jointly with other individuals or groups who might be interested.

We genuinely want and believe that these can be numerous, and this since the issue of a healthy marriage is not a controversial subject. On the contrary it is something which is of an advantage to everyone. Certainly everyone can understand the benefits of it, not only for the families themselves, but also for the whole of society.

PROGETTIMPENN shall be including various projects. We would like to start with a serious National Discussion on all levels of the Maltese society. For this reason we are asking you to give the best contribution possible from your perspective, in relation to this National Discussion. The more the number of people involved, the more the validity and strength of this National Discussion. In this National Discussion we are asking you to answer the 6 questions which you will find in the document attached. You may choose to answer in English or Maltese.
